(December 2023) Herndon, VA – MOSIMTEC will be attending the upcoming Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) 2023 in San Antonio, TX, on December 10-13, 2023. The WSC 2023 underscores the crucial role of simulation in developing, organizing, and maintaining resilient systems amidst uncertainty. Given the growing interconnectedness of the world, the conference emphasizes the importance of ensuring systems can swiftly recover and adapt to significant disruptions. Simulation, with its capacity for uncertainty modeling and explainable analytics, is identified as a pivotal technology in the construction of resilient systems.
MOSIMTEC’s Yusuke Legard will be presenting Utilizing Simulation to Evaluate the Design of a Greenfield Multi-story Parking Structure and Impacts to Surrounding Areas.” The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, aims to enhance its campus parking facilities by replacing a surface lot with a six-story greenfield parking structure, accommodating 1420 parking spaces. With a focus on prioritizing employee experience and ensuring pedestrian and vehicle safety, NIH enlisted MOSIMTEC to employ simulation modeling. The simulation assessed the impact of different entrance and exit configurations on the parking structure. This presentation provides details about the project, the system under consideration, simulation tool inputs and outputs, and the resulting influence on the design of the new parking structure.
