(May 2012) McLean, VA – MOSIMTEC has been selected to make a presentation on Risk-based Planning and Scheduling through Simulation at the Annual Industrial Engineering Conference and Expo in Orlando, Florida (May 19-23, 2012). The IIE Annual Conference and Expo is the Institute of Industrial Engineer’s premier annual professional development event for all who drive productivity and efficiency in their organizations.

Traditionally, plans and schedules are drawn on a deterministic approach and are essentially obsolete given any deviation from the original drafted plan. Risk simulation, and specifically Risk-based Planning and Scheduling (RPS), provides a means to incorporate inherent system variation in the plans and schedules, through highlighting schedule risks and allowing for a means to analyze and mitigate those risks. The end result is the creation of more robust and feasible plans.

RPS drives simulation to a more real-time operational decision support level, as opposed to the traditional offline application of simulation for design validation and verification purposes. MOSIMTEC will share their experience with RPS applications as part of the Applied Solutions track, including a review of RPS tools, demonstration of the application of one or more of these tools and related case studies.
