MOSIMTEC is seeking a simulation consultant to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team. This position will be located in Northern Virginia. The applicant will support the project manager on various consulting endeavors involving computer modeling, simulation, and analysis. You will work on exciting projects covering a wide rage of domains including material handling, mining, chemical processing, manufacturing, supply chains, maritime and port operations, and healthcare. Some travel to client locations may be required.

The MOSIMTEC team has extensive experience working with leading computer simulation software. We help predict outcomes, decide actions, and improve operations for clients across various industries.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Construct conceptual models of processes and data in Visio and provide recommendations for designing the formal model.
- Draft Functional Specifications which describe system behavior and model architecture.
- Develop formal computer models and run simulations through commercial off the shelf (COTS) simulation software.
- Apply and develop statistical analysis tools to assist in the evaluation of input data for use in the model and output data generated by simulation runs.
Required Skills:
- Experience in constructing Discrete Event Simulation (DES), Agent Based Simulation (AB), Systems Dynamic Simulation (SD) or Monte Carlo models for the purpose of analyzing processes.
- Solid understanding of the science of Modeling and Simulation.
- Strong comprehension of statistics, data analytics and design of experiments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Genuine interest and experience in solving industry problems through the use of scientific software with emphasis on data analytics.
- Modeling and simulation development in one or more leading general application simulation software (e.g. Simio, AnyLogic, FlexSim, ExtendSim, Simul8, Arena, etc.)
- Management or engineering consulting experience or internship reference in modeling and simulation role.
- Proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills (samples of written work desired)
Required Experience:
- 0-3 years work experience.
- Bachelor and/or Graduate studies in Science in Physics, Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Programming experience in either Java, Python, .NET languages, C# or VBA
- Expert level in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
